What A Very Difficult Week But A Very Happy Month

After a quick trip to NYC, we come back to South Florida to hear the news of Nelson Mandela's passing.
We knew this was coming as word spread when he took ill some months ago, but still I find myself in shock and disbelief that it's happened.
I met with Mr. Mandela back in 2005, on a philanthropic trip to NYC.  We had tea and discussed his Children's Fund and even joked about our favorite BBC show "Keeping up Appearances" (very cool to have that in common).

You can check out his Children's Fund at: http://www.nelsonmandelachildrensfund.com/

A great man is gone, but he lives on thru a legacy and memories of a fun sense of humor.

On another note, it's refreshing what can result from a location.  Such creative juices flow at the ocean.  For all kinds of artwork and music.  Open your ears and you can almost hear the waves touch the shore.

A Little Bit North

Well, we moved a bit north.  It's a little calmer and less hectic for us.  And I found a favorite morning place for coffee and peace.  (I must work on my French)

You have to find your peace where you can.
And enjoy some of what life gives you.
Yummers!

Two Shots of Happy and One of Sad

Happy, because of a recent trip to the doctor's had positive results, and feeling fine.  Happy, because of my latest surprise that came with a professional picture hanger.

My love saw me spending lots of time looking at it in a gallery in Palm Beach.  How lucky am I?

So sad because one of my favorite places is in grave danger with a wildfire closing in.

I love Hailey and Ketchum, Idaho and I pray for our friends and fire fighters who are dealing with this crisis currently.

Loving The Summertime

Just returned from a 3 week journey all around.  Cape Cod then off to Sorrento, Italy.  Luckily with some new medication, and some good sunshine, my health has held up quite well.

So far summer has been a dream.
Hopefully we will not have any complications from the incoming tropical storm Dorian.
Finger's crossed.

Annual Philanthropic Trip

With school out it's time for our annual philanthropic trip.  This year we head back to Idaho and deliver a custom made falconry hood from the UK to the World Center For Birds of Prey.

And made one more contribution to a scholarship organization.
Then off to a friend's ranch in Hailey, Idaho.
Pure heaven....
Only 1 week, then back home due to I was very fatigued and feeling ill.
Time for a visit to the Dr.'s and rest.

HPV and Cancer

Michael Douglas discussed his battle with throat cancer in an interview with The Guardian newspaper, in which doctors raised the point that some throat cancers can be caused by a sexually transmitted virus, HPV, related to cervical cancer.
But Douglas' spokesperson has rebutted the newspaper's headline saying that oral sex caused his cancer. The spokesperson said that the article simply included discussion of oral sex as a suspected cause of certain oral cancers.
USA TODAY asked cancer experts to explain HPV's role in oral cancer and other diseases.
Yes, HPV causes lot's of different cancer's.  People have to be honest about their HPV, unlike my ex husband.  I should have questioned that "mole" he said he had since he was a child.

Happy Mother's Day

It truly is a miracle!  Never really thought I would get the chance to become a mother and I'm forever grateful. ;)
